At the crossroads: My song and my story

Jun 27, 2025  |

The legend that stayed with me

I have always been drawn to stories. The kind that stay with you. The kind you feel deep in your chest.

One of those stories is the legend of the crossroads. You know the one. A lone guitarist, hungry for greatness, meets the devil and trades his soul for the ability to play like no one else. It is haunting, powerful and packed with symbolism.

But here is what sticks with me: that moment of choice. That pause between what was and what could be. That is what “Crossroads” is about.

And now, I finally get to share it with you.

A song born from reflection

This song is not just music. It is a marker on my path.

I wrote “Crossroads” during a season of deep reflection. Like many of you, I have stood in that uncertain space, asking what comes next. Life after 50 does not come with a roadmap. There is no GPS for reinvention. No guidebook for grief, healing, love or rediscovery. But there is music.

There is always music.

And in that spirit, I am honored to share the exclusive release of “Crossroads” here on RestlessUrban.

If you are part of the Founders Club, you already received early access. I cannot thank you enough for being part of this ride. Your support fuels this next chapter.

Why this song matters

Why this song? Why now?

Because I know I am not alone.

This song is for anyone who has ever asked, “Is it too late to dream again?”

It is for those who have weathered heartbreak and still believe in joy.

It is for the ones who chose a new path, even when the road ahead was unclear.

“Crossroads” is the soundtrack of my journey, and I hope it becomes part of yours.

More to come

Later this season, I will be sharing personal essays and more songs, including “Two Nights in Memphis,” that explore the stories behind the music. We will look at the restorative power of songwriting and what it means to create in the middle of life.

But for now, just listen.

Find a quiet spot. Let the guitar settle in your bones. Hear the words. Feel the truth in them.

And if you know someone standing at their own crossroads, share the song. It just might help them find their way.

Thank you for listening

Thank you for walking this road with me.
