The Explorer
"Age is a number. Curiosity is a competitive advantage. The future belongs to the restless."
Bob’s career has been shaped by a simple belief: curiosity is one of life’s most valuable assets.
He grew up at the intersection of discipline and creativity. His father was a Triple-A shortstop in the New York Yankees organization and his baseball coach growing up, teaching him the value of preparation, resilience and teamwork. His mother embodied the spirit of a true Restless Urban, reinventing herself later in life as an artist whose work was exhibited publicly and now fills the walls of Bob and Donna’s home. His grandfather, who immigrated to America from Ukraine, spent years writing an unpublished novel. Creativity, ambition and reinvention have always been family traditions.
That foundation led to a career defined by exploration and building what didn’t yet exist. From helping launch a groundbreaking arthritis treatment alongside baseball legends Mickey Mantle and Whitey Ford, to helping create Dell’s first global social media team, to supporting the creation and growth of two of healthcare’s leading communications firms—GCI Health and Real Chemistry—Bob has spent his career at the intersection of business, media, technology and innovation. He has also led global communications organizations for Fortune 500 companies.
Along the way, Bob and Donna raised their daughters, Nicole and Brittany, while living in Switzerland and traveling to more than 30 countries as a family. Those experiences reinforced a belief that learning doesn’t stop with age—it expands with exposure to new people, ideas and perspectives.
Today, Bob channels that experience into teaching at The University of Texas McCombs School of Business, advising companies navigating the future of media, marketing and technology, and investing in emerging AI-centered businesses. He is a frequent contributor to Forbes Communications Council, The Cipher Brief and Senior Executive’s CMO Think Tank.
For Bob, the most exciting chapter is never the one that’s already been written. It’s the one that’s next.
