A compact smart display for calls, music, and effortless home control.
The latest Echo Show 8 from Amazon is a smart screen small enough to sit on a countertop but powerful enough to handle video calls, music and smart home control. Its 8-inch screen and 13MP camera keeps you perfectly framed during chats, while the front stereo speakers and custom woofer deliver a clear sound that’s perfect for listening to podcasts and playlists without extra devices.
Setting it up is straightforward, especially if you’re already in the Alexa ecosystem, and it can control compatible smart home devices (i.e., lighting, thermostats, locks, security cameras etc.) display your calendar and show the weather at a glance. At only US$179 it also hits a sweet spot between great function and affordability. But because the devices is designed to work with Alexa, you can’t switch to assistants like Google.
